Nitrogen Tanks

Nitrogen is typically supplied in a liquid phase at a temperature of –196oC. The storage tanks for this cryogenic fluid must have the following basic specifications:

  • Inner vessel made of cold resistant stainless steel
  • Outer vessel to contain the inner vessel and support a high-vacuum insulation to maintain the inner temperature in order to minimize Nitrogen loss to atmosphere.

Smape storage equipment for liquid Nitrogen (suitable for offshore and onshore applications) have the following specifications:

  • Capacity up to 30000 liters (8000 gallons)
  • Pressure up to 17bar
  • Maximum loss 1% daily
  • CE marked
  • DNV 2.7-1 frame
